Sneak Peek Friday

Doing the happy dance over here to have sold my sweet canary painting.  I had enjoyed it hanging in my studio for a while.  Then, I was listening to an interview with Carol Marine,  who was asked "Have you ever sold a specific painting you wished you have kept?".  Her answer stuck with me.  She said, "No, because I can always do another one, it's a process".  So I grabbed this one to display at the coffee shop and now it will be off to a happy home.

Oil on linen on sewed to watercolor paper

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend...Once again, I am linking up with Studio JRU and all of you lovely Sneak Peek Talents!

I did admire that one myself! And the eggs done the same way...when I did my painting this week, I kept in mind what you said in a post a couple of weeks ago about using large brushes and brushstrokes...I tried it out on this one and my little tweener was in awe of the painting! I did do a little rubbing with the towel I keep to wipe my brush on as well...have a beautiful holiday weekend!

I am soooooo happy Diana that you sold your canary~ (Aren't paintings kind of like your children, and they are sometimes hard to let go?) I've been meaning to drop a note, to tell you that I am so inspired by you and excited about the path you are on. One more step in this fabulous process. (By the way- I love Carol Marine!!!!I read her blog regularly too.) Big Happy Dance to you!

It must be kind of a bittersweet thing. Happy to sell something you've made with your own hands and talent but sad to see something you treasure go! Beautiful canary. I'm sure it will be happy in its new home! Happy Easter!

Congratulations on selling your painting and on being very brave and putting it out there. I can understand your reluctance to sell it for a while because sometimes we've enjoyed a piece and the process to create it so much that we want to hang onto that feeling and inspiration. Bravo!

So glad you sold your painting, Diana! And I loved that little bird, by the way. I love how you painted on linen and stitched your canvas on paper. I am sure your little bird will make someone happy every time they see it in their home :)
