Mother's Helpful Tips

My oldest daughter asked me if I thought I was dying because I was sharing a lot of helpful tips with her.  I don't even remember now what they were except that we were making dinner together, and it was centered around cooking.  Who doesn't have advice on cooking when working with a novice?

Anyway, besides cooking advice, I told her about a money saving tip I'd like to share with my art lover friends, too.  I know there will be many who already do this, but it just dawned on me the other day...

I was purchasing something online at Wisteria.com.  When getting ready to hit the buy now button, I noticed a little coupon code or promotional code, which I normally ignore (not ever having one).    This time  I thought I'd give it a little Google search "Wisteria promotional code" and up came a promotional code, which was valid and saved me a few bucks.  Then I went and ordered paint on Dick Blick's and got free shipping.

Hey, wait a second here, I think I'm spending more money just to save money! :)

Here are a few sites for coupon shoppers momsview.com, couponcabin.com, and naughtycodes.com.  I'd love to hear of any cost savings on art supplies.  Yikes.

Great tip for sure! Every dollar counts. :) A friend had told me about googling for coupons before heading out to shop if I already knew the store I was headed too. Everything saved is more to spend! ;)

Je n'ai jamais acheté beaucoup de choses via internet...

Good tip. I had no idea that you could look for promotional codes like that. Glad you saved some money. I am a grocery coupon clipper. Not like the obsessed ones on tv, just the paper I get every week and I usually do save a bit of money. Then I wonder to myself, when it takes an hour for me to go through them, cut them and organize them, is it really worth it?

Well, thank you Diana!--I always ignore those promotional code things too--not anymore--great tip!

I love those coupons! My husband browses "Slick Deals" every day and knows of all the deals you can get. What I love even more, however, are coupons for our local businesses that are in our local paper sometimes. And believe it or not, every Thursday there's a coupon for my favorite art supply store in town. Sure, it's "only" for one item, but I love to support local businesses whenever possible - so watch out for those local coupons as well.
