Poppy 1 - 12" x 12" mixed media |
Simplicity.... I so loved the background that I didn't want to cover it up with color. Just this simple poppy leaves all the hard work on the background still exposed. It's hard to appreciate the texture until you see it in person. This little piece has some gold rubbed on top that doesn't show up in the picture, but looks awesome in person.

I've added a piece of braille to all my floral pieces, telling a little story of its own. I kind of like that.
I have another 12 x 12 canvas...don't you think this should be a pair?
Once again, I am linking up with Studio JRU and all of you lovely Sneak Peek Talents!

This is lovely. The texture gives an extra level and knowing there is some gold on it helps me imagine how dimensional it must appear.
You made an excelent choice of not covering the background. The two compliment each other so well. Great job!
perfect!--the poppy just comes right off of the page--I love it!
This. is. gorgeous. I love that you didn't cover up the background, and I certainly do hope that you make another one to create a pair!
Love the poppy and the background...don't blame you for not covering it up. I love the brail...cool idea. I think a pair of these would be lovely or even a set of three. Have a wonderful weekend. Fondly, Roberta
This is so beautiful! I love the texture, too. It looks like bricks! I love how the red really pops against the background.
stunning. and yes I think a second complimentry piece would go perfect with this
This is amazing Diana!! Love it! The red pops off of the distressed gray background!! :) The texture is great! :)
Diana, this is one of my favorite color combinations. The poppy is beauty. And I love the rich texture in the background.
Beautiful! I love when a background is so pretty you don't want to cover it up! :) I love the colors. It would look great as a pair!
This is absolutely stunning, Diana. I love the single red poppy on the beautiful background - it really "pops". What is the story behind the braille? You made me curious.
Gorgeous! I think you should make a whole series.
You really are so inspiring to a girl like me, your art is divine and I always learn something new.
