I'm very excited about the depth in the background. I almost didn't post this painting, because her features aren't correct, but I suppose with learning a new technique, your first is going to have a lot of experimenting. She paints totally with acrylic, and I painted the portrait with oil. So now, I have to wait for it to totally dry to finish. Although I love the photo of Kristen, I should have picked something easier to start with. What was I thinking?
Hope your having a creative day!

Congratulations on winning those neat pieces from India! How fun! I love this portrait you are doing. It is gorgeous! I think it is great that you went right for a tough piece. Great way to learn. I think you are doing a fantastic job! :)
Love the textiles and can just imagine them used as pillows and table covers ;) I think the portrait is wonderful and you are too hard on yourself....stop ;) Like you said, it's a project piece and the object of any course is...to learn the process and to produce something...that is better done than perfect! All though I think it's pretty darn close to perfect ;) Have a wonderful week.
Fondly, Roberta
I just love the background...the blues are so pretty & of course I love the texture. Such beautiful work! So, so talented you are!! :) Have a wonderful week.
I love the background! For me, portraits are very difficult and I admire how you just dive in it and do it. It looks great! I like your idea of the cheat sheet, I guess it is of some help after the class will be done.
Hey Diana... nice win! That's a beautiful textile. And I love what you are working on. It's so fun to take a class and learn a new way of doing things. I think it looks great!! Why are we so hard on ourselves... ahhhh the artiste in us all! best to you!
I love the background on this too - wonderful!
