After sending my oldest daughter away to college, I finally had some more free time on my hands, so I decided to re-focus on my lifelong passion for art. I have a steady request for dog portraits and now am expanding my subject list and medium. I have also exhibited at the Watercolor Society of San Diego gallery—in addition, I am a member of the National Watercolor Society.
Here is another piece of my painting's progress. There is another half to this that still needs to be figured out.
So far, everything is acrylic over papers. Instead of multicolor papers underneath, I stuck to red and yellow to see if I would like the effect. When the red paper started peaking through to her hair, I loved it and just went with it. Her dress shows some of that colored texture as well.
