A wishing star ornament (This is NOT the exchange ornament!) |
Originally, we had a couple of ideas of what to paint and I had prepared some boards to paint on for each of us, but when Michelle saw the little ornaments hanging to dry for our ornament exchange at Studio JRU, she just had to make one for herself, too. I was happy that she wanted to, because I needed to work on them.
By now, I had a step by step process, because you can't make 10 little ornaments without a little organization, right. I also enjoyed teaching her little things I've learned along the way. We talked about what women talk about and drank coffee. It was so much fun. I could get addicted to this. I can't show you the ornament until Dec. 10, so the one above is another very different one I made.
I also want to give a special thanks to my friend, Kelly at Kelly Berkey Designs for posting my painting and having the challenge that introduced me to many of you. I wish you could join me and paint one Saturday, too.

Nice to meet you via Kelly. Your painting of her is fantastic. Loving your site, just had a good old mooch around. Great stuff.
Diana, I just saw your painting of Kelly at her blog and she gave a link to you. I am very impressed and have become a follower.
Hi Diana, I would LOVE to come and play with you!!! I saw your painting at Kelly's blog--You are goood Ms. Lady!
Oh Diana..just returned from seeing your BEAUTIFUL painting at Kelly's place. Stunningly GORGEOUS! Please forgive me for sounding like that broken record again..but sweet lady, you are a natural at portraiture. I say this with all honesty and wonder if you fully realize there are many portraiture artists out there whose work doesn't come close to your abilities. You've been given a true gift of capturing the soul on canvas.
Here's wishing you and all those you love a Wonderfully Blessed Thanksgiving, Terri
P.S. Love the ornament!
I would love to do a workshop with you! I love to paint but so rarely do it. You are so full of talent!
